Vantage is putting $1.6 billion into its APAC data center platform, using part of it to buy Yondr’s 300+ MW hyperscale campus in Johor, Malaysia, pushing its regional footprint to 1 GW across Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

This Johor site sits in a strategic SEZ near Singapore with dark fiber routes, green financing, and direct-to-chip liquid cooling, making it well-suited for dense AI and cloud GPU deployments.

While North America is the core of Vantage’s business, APAC is their fastest growing segment.

This is more proof that hyperscale and AI capacity is clustering in lower-cost, power-rich hubs around Singapore, and the details here are worth a closer look.
